CSFAAU Publicity Secretary Meets with CSCUK Staff in London

Mr. Simon Golola, the Publicity Secretary of CSFAAU, recently met the staff of CSCUK during a trip to London. On Tuesday, May 21st 2024, he engaged in a detailed and lengthy discussion with CSCUK Alumni Relations Manager Kirsty Scott and her team at their offices in Woburn House, London.

The meeting focused on the growth and development of CSFAAU. Simon shared the steps CSFAAU has recently taken to enhance in-country alumni engagement and membership. He emphasized the renewed intentionality of the newly appointed leadership to organize impactful activities for both external communities and alumni. The recent registration of the association as an NGO has opened new doors, allowing CSFAAU to collaborate with other organizations as a formally recognized entity.

The discussion explored the challenges hindering more effective alumni engagement, and strategies for overcoming these obstacles. Current strategies include the launch of the new website, showcasing alumni impact through the “Alumni of the Month” spotlight, organizing community development projects involving alumni from diverse backgrounds, and appointing a patron to support resource mobilization.

With a thorough analysis of the current status of CSFAAU, the conversation then turned to how CSC could better support the association and how to better leverage the involvement of the British High Commission. The meeting concluded with specific action points for both CSFAAU and CSC to help achieve the association’s goals over the coming financial year.

As CSFAAU, we look forward to a fruitful year of achievements under the guidance and support of CSCUK and the British High Commission.
