Our Patron

Professor William Bazeyo is a distinguished academic, public health specialist, and leader in higher education and development. He has served in pivotal roles, including Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Finance and Administration and Dean of the School of Public Health at Makerere University. His career has been marked by significant contributions to occupational health, global health, and health systems strengthening.

As a seasoned grant manager, Professor Bazeyo has secured major funding for Makerere University and innovative projects like the ResilientAfrica Network (RAN), focusing on resilience and innovation in low-resource settings. He has led numerous national and international health initiatives addressing non-communicable diseases, disaster management, and health financing.

A recipient of several prestigious awards, including an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Tufts University, he serves as Chairperson of the University Council at Busitema University, overseeing its strategic governance. His leadership reflects his commitment to evidence-based research, sustainable development, and mentoring young professionals – including serving as the patron of CSFAAU.
