Collin Ogara
President
Collin is a social scientist with over 18 years of experience in developing meaningful partnerships for resource mobilization and training social behavior for health-related research projects. He is a Commonwealth Research Fellow and completed his professional fellowship in Community Health and Preventative Medicine at the University of Liverpool. Collin is also a consultant and works within the higher education ecosystem and development agencies.

Zaharah Namanda
Vice President
Zaharah holds an MSc in Education, Public Policy & Equity with distinction from the University of Glasgow in Scotland (UK), through the Commonwealth Scholarship scheme and is currently the Director for Utopia Foundation, a USA charity based in Michigan. She is also the founder and Executive Director for Africa Education & Leadership Initiative (Africa ELI) Uganda, an NGO providing education and well-being support to vulnerable, local and refugee youth.
Patrick Micheal Okeng
General Secretary
Patrick holds a Masters of Philosophy in Education, Globalisation & International Development from University of Cambridge. He is an education specialist with over 12 years of practical field experience and engagement. Patrick possesses extensive knowledge in programme cycle management, staff development, resource mobilization, and programme monitoring and evaluation. He is currently the School Improvement Officer at Peas Uganda.

Dr. Leonard Ssozi
Deputy General Secretary
Leonard is an environmental policy and sustainability professional. He currently serves as a Principal Policy Analyst at the Parliament of Uganda. He holds a PhD (Ecological Culture, Livelihood and Environment) from Radboud University, Netherlands and a MSc Education for Sustainability from London South Bank University (Commonwealth Scholarships) and a MSc. Development Economics from Uganda Martyrs University. He is a Certified Environmental Impact Assessment Manager.

Simon Golola
Publicity Secretary
Simon holds a MA Education and International Development from University College London courtesy of the CSC. He is an education consultant with an interest in international higher education, student mobility, sociology of education and transnational education. Simon is the MD of Pathway Study Abroad, an education agency based in Kampala and Kigali, that provides international education placements across different institutions worldwide.

Crystal Rutangye-Bazirake
Deputy Publicity Secretary
As a Commonwealth scholar, Crystal completed a Masters of Letters (MA) in Publishing Studies at the University of Stirling in 2015. With over 14 years’ experience in editing, (ghost) writing and proofreading across various genres of content, she is the founder and Publishing Director of Scribe House. Leveraging her background experience in communications, content marketing and office administration, she adeptly serves as the Deputy Publicity Secretary for CSFAAU.

Petua Babirye Isabirye

Petua graduated in 2014 as a Commonwealth scholar with an MA in Educational Studies - Gender, Social Justice and Inclusion from the University of York. Currently, Petua serves as the Principal Education and Training Officer at Equal Opportunities Commission. She is the President of Divine Women in Business and the ED of Community Organisation Program for Empowerment. She is passionate about women empowerment and is a recognized leader in this field.

Noah Ochima
Deputy Treasurer
Noah completed his Master of Science Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London in 2018, on a Commonwealth Scholarship. With a multi-sectoral background spanning a combined 14 years of experience in Telecommunications and Renewable Energy, he now serves as a Program Manager at the Uganda Electricity Credit Capitalization Company Limited (UECCC), charged with the electrification of public institutions across the country.

Catherine Tushabe

Catherine has over ten years of organizational experience in the areas of gender equality, social inclusion, girl empowerment, social work and program management. She holds a MA Gender and International Development from University of Warwick and currently works with Aga Khan University as the Manager - Students Experience. Her other interests include research and analysis, office administration, record keeping, report preparation, event management, and customer-focused tasks.

Dr. Ronald Kiyemba
Deputy Events Coordinator
Ronald is a medical doctor and holds a MSc Clinical Trials from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is a highly motivated and self-driven clinical research professional, with over 4 years of experience working across all stages of the clinical research project life cycle. His interests include protocol development, trial designs, data monitoring, interim analysis, meta-analysis, and TB/HIV clinical trials in low-income settings. He currently works as a Research Scientist in Clinical Trials.
