The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) provides the main UK government scholarship scheme led by international development objectives.

Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships are aimed at empowering future leaders across the Commonwealth to act as catalysts for sustainable development by actively supporting candidates of outstanding ability, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, based in low and middle-income countries. They are intended to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and are awarded under 6 CSC development themes:
- Science and technology for development
- Strengthening health systems and capacity
- Promoting global prosperity
- Strengthening global peace, security and
- governance
- Strengthening resilience and response to crises
- Access, inclusion and opportunity
What do Commonwealth Scholarships Offer:
- Fully funded study at a UK Institution
- Visa and travel costs for awardees travelling to the UK
- Additional financial support including family allowance and disability support
- Opportunities to meet other scholars and build meaningful relationships
- Opportunity to join the 'Leaders in Sustainable Development' programme to support academic and/or professional development
- Joining a global alumni network
