Who We Are

OUR BACKGROUND

In years past, the British Council – Uganda held annual get-togethers for the alumni of the Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships. It was at one such gathering on 14th December 2014, that about 50 alumni in attendance decided to form an alumni association. A core team got together to complete the necessary groundwork and on the 7th day of October 2015, the first executive team of the Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships Alumni Association of Uganda (formerly Uganda Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships Alumni Association of Uganda)  was elected at the association’s first AGM, with Arthur Niwagaba as the founding Chairperson, assisted by his Vice Chairperson, Robbie Mutyaba.

Today, almost ten years later and a few regime changes later, we boast of a vibrant growing membership. With most activity being run by members based in Kampala only, we aspire to set up chapters in every district of our country where two or more alumni are based. Our growing membership is working together to establish a lasting legacy of persons empowered by the Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships to effect socio-economic transformation in our nation.

The Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships Alumni Association of Uganda (CSFAAU) is a non-political, non-profit-making association that is formally registered with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau. In endeavoring to meet its goals, and for the better and proper performance of its functions, CSFAAU has a constitution in place that was last ratified during the extraordinary meeting held on November 19, 2023.
